Edinburgh Campaign Latest

There’s now only 17 days left until the referendum, and with polls as close as ever, we’ve got plenty of opportunities this week for you to get involved in the campaign and help spread the YES to Fairer Votes message to as many people as possible. These last 2 and a half weeks will decide if we change our political system forever.

The week ahead:

On Wednesday we’ll be leafleting outside Waverley Station for an hour or so in the evening to catch people as they make their way home from work. Check out the link below for more details and register if you can come along.

On Thursday we’ll be having our weekly group phone banking night at the Forest Cafe. If you’re an experienced phone canvasser, or if you’ve never done it before, come along and help the team talk to as many voters as we can.

Friday night sees the Yes to Fairer Votes Music Tour visits the Teviot Underground in Edinburgh. It’s a great chance to come along for a drink and a chat and listen to some great live music. Entry is free for students!

We’re setting up our street stall on the corner of Castle Street and Princes Street from 10am – 2pm on Saturday. It’s the second last weekend of campaigning so we need as many people as possible to give up an hour and come along. Check out the details and choose your favourite time slot:

We’re rounding off the week by taking the YES campaign to Portobello beach on Sunday. As part of a series of YES! to Fairer Votes beach events around the UK for Easter weekend, we will be meeting for a purple picnic and to create our own YES! message on the sand, using pebbles, shells, driftwood, etc. A great way to spend Easter Sunday! All the details can be found at:

We are also registering people to come along to the referendum count as part of the YES team. The count begins at 4pm on Friday 6 May and takes place at Highland Hall, Ingliston. We also have limited places available at the verification (first count) on Thursday night. Could anyone interested in attending please contact me at g.scotland86@gmail.com or on 07557035546 before Friday 22 April.

Thanks again to everyone for their continued support of the campaign.
