About Fairer Votes Edinburgh

This is the blog of the Edinburgh branch of Yes to Fairer Votes.

Yes to Fairer Votes campaigns for a Yes vote in the referendum on voting systems to be held on 5th May 2011. The Edinburgh branch is a part of the grassroots of the Yes Campaign. We are made up of members of most political parties and people with no party affiliation.

It is an unoffical blog, run and written by local activists. The views expressed here are the authors’ own and do not necessarily reflect “offical” Yes to Fairer Votes policy.

The purposes of the blog are

  • to record the activities of the Edinburgh Yes to Fairer Votes Branch,
  • to make a positive case for voting Yes in the 5th May referendum
  • to counter some disinformation by the No Campaign
  • to discuss some of the implications of a change in voting systems

This blog should never engage in personal attacks on No Campaign activists not should it attempt to smear the First Past the Post voting system by using false logic to associate it with unsavory persons.
